And she turned one!
She was cute and really made me work for those smiles. ;) But hey! It was her birthday after all! Thanks S and S, for inviting me to capture your memories!

ALL that for ME? (love the look on her face here!)

What a fun session and a fun couple!! They were SO relaxed through this session. M was amazing, not a single stretch mark on her belly, beautiful skin… and their house was perfect. Loved the large window light. I can really feel the excitement while they anticipate their new arrival…. and not too soon I hope!! (stay in there a little bit more little one!) But I can’t wait to meet him either.

That’s an excerpt out of one of my children’s favorite books called “Home for a Bunny” by Margaret Wise Brown. I just love reading that book to my kids because it shouts spring! And I’m SO ready for it! I know it’s here, but with recent strange weather it’s been hard to convince myself.. brrrrr! Anyway,I’ve got some evidence that spring has in fact arrived. :) Spring flowers from my own garden, all taken in the amazing warm weather we had a bit ago.

This one is called “frogs eyes” Love the fresh green.

Meet D, S, and little M! What a cutie!!!! This active lil’ guy was so much fun to photograph. He has the coolest parents ever, singing made up songs like “swweeeeeet Pootattooess…. “ So fun!!!

Thanks D and S for sharing your little guy with me!
In honor of my 35th {*gasp*} and because it would be good to celebrate spring AND the fact that I finished my taxes and mailed them off this morning, I thought I’d give a little something this week!
Call or email this week (April 14th-20th) to book your session for May – receive a 70.00 print credit!!! This offer is limited to May bookings only, and will end when my calendar is full, so call early to book! (this offer may not be combined with other coupons or discounts.)

Photo-ops with my kids and some great weather!!! (YAY! spring IS here!) Being a photographer, my kids suffer from that sydrome, you know, that photographers kids usually suffer from. They rarely like to allow themselves to be photographed without grumpy faces, tongues sticking out, google eyes, etc. Mine seem especially rotten at times. ha!! But last week was spring break and maybe it was the sunshine we had or something but they seemed excited to go outside and have some fun AND let me take some fun photographs of them. They even got a prize after the 2nd time around like my little clients usually get after working hard posing in front of the camera.
It was a sunny day so what better than to break out the funky sunglasses!! They were so funny.

And we had a great walk with some friends at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens in Bellevue. What a beautiful park and fun place to explore! It’s a great place to have a family or child photography session and I love the ever-changing environment there.

My kids were extremely fortunate to be able to participate in the BEST class ever. It was a horsemanship class, and anyone who knows my daughter knows how much she enjoys horses and ponies. She reads about them, begs for horse-related toys, begs me to take her to see horses, etc etc etc…
Well, I photographed Katy Venters and her family last fall. I’m so glad she asked me to photograph her family, otherwise we never would have found out about her incredible talents. Katy has 3 beautiful little children of her own and I just know that not only her experiences with horses but also her experiences as a mother really brought something special to her teaching! My kids adored her and she *really* knows how to work with the littlest ones and teach them all about horses. My kids adored the intimacy of the classes too, and now really feel much more confident around these animals. And frankly, so do I.
Katy Venters teaches at Faith Farm, on Union Hill Road in Redmond. If you are interested in finding out more about her farm and classes, email Katy at faithfarm5016@msn.com
We can’t wait until we start again… Thanks Katy!
Here are a few photo’s of our last session at Faith Farm… With Toby!
