I met the mom of these stunning girls about 7 or 8 years ago, when we first moved here.  Our kids were in playgroup together and it’s been so long since we caught up now that our daughters are in school and so busy.  WOW. I’m so stunned by how beautiful they have become and so big too!   I loved seeing you again, K!  Thanks for bringing them in for a portrait session!

Kermit was wrong. It is easy being green [on Halloween]!

Just make choices that are people-healthy, animal-friendly and Earth-conscious.

We‘ll show you how with these 10 simple steps:

  1. Plan ahead to avoid last-minute shopping which often limits your choices.
  2. When it comes to costumes and décor—reuse, borrow, swap, purchase used or do-it-yourself.
  3. Treat bags can be anything! For extra fun, match the bag to the costume using something you already own. Here are some ideas: purses, flower pots (cover the hole), cloth sacks, backpacks, lunchboxes.

  4. Choose healthier treats. Take baby steps with organic candy and honey sticks, two child-favored choices. (Honey is not for children under two years of two).
  5. Choose fun treasures instead of conventional sweets. Think of the treasures your child collects in her pockets—pretty rocks, coins, etc.
  6. If you‘re giving a party, avoid disposables including napkins, plates, cups, tablecloths and other décor.
  7. Walk from house to house instead of driving.
  8. Compost pumpkins and any other food, including leftover candy.
  9. Collect candy wrappers and help your kids turn them into gift items like purses, bracelets and picture frames. Find directions on the internet.
  10.  Avoid purchasing any treats made with palm oil.

I met these two cuties at Pickering Barn in Issaquah – what a fun place to shoot! I love the red bar to add in a pop of color!   They were SO sweet with each other too.  :)

We had a gooooorgeous day, which is a rare one this spring and early summer.   When we showed up at Bellevue Botanical Gardens, it was like the paparazzi were out, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many photographers in one place.  But luckily most had their sites on the flowers.  But I was sure there were a few that would have preferred to follow us around and get some of these cuties!  I was the lucky one!  :)

check out how freaking adorable Miss R is, AKA Daphne from scooby doo.  She got to wear this cute little outfit at her birthday party!

6 months! What a great age to photograph!   All he needs was a round of Wheel’s on the Bus and his face brightened right up!

This session was so fun with Miss S!!   She kept on giving me the cute smiles and expressions the whole way through!

LOVE this!!!  Perfect for being one!  :)

I LOVE spring.   I love everything about it except the allergies.  But those I can deal with.  I enjoy all the new fresh color that pops up, sometimes in unexpected places.  Like this place I discovered  and had to take my kids there and take photos.  It’s just a little alley way and an undeveloped field. Lot’s of blooming dandelions, a few grape hyacinths and a large blooming tree.   Thank goodness my kids were able to cooperate as it’s usually quite a challenge for me to be behind the lens with them in front of it.  But thankfully a bit of bribery went a long way.  That, and my youngest was completely excited that I let her pick all the dandelions she wanted.

So, a little share of my own kids.  *heart*

And I thought this was a little funny snapshot of what my mom’s a photographer syndrome looks like!  ;)

Had a great time with this cute family and their adorable twin boys on the waterfront!  They really wanted to incorporate their jeep and I was pretty excited about it as I love incorporating things like this.   Finally! It feels like spring too – we got amazing weather on the day we had their session which feels great this time of year!

This session in the studio loft was so much FUN!  I loooove babies this age. They are adorable.  :
