February {Project 365}

March 2, 2011

Wow, another month gone by, and now that it’s over it felt like it went quick.  Although with what feels like colder-than-normal weather, there were times when it felt like it was never going to end.  I’m SO looking forward to spring already!  The longer days are feeling nice, and making me think about those late summer days and the best light for photo sessions!

So this month, I’ve been keeping up with boot camp and starting to feel good about getting in better shape.  :)   I photographed a few little newborn babies (sneak peeks to come soon on those) and a few little kids in studio too.  I’m starting to pick up speed again and booking sessions for spring and summer.   I feel ready to go!  Yay!   Here’s a little peek into my daily life in pictures.  It’s fun to see them all together like this – much more exciting than what at times seems like I’m snapping a completely boring moment… but looks good when presented this way. LOL

January {Project 365}

February 3, 2011

This year I’m trying something new to help push me creatively with my photography and to record my personal life on a day-to-day basis.    It’s a fun project, anyone can do it – most of my images are taken using my iphone actually so I am not carrying equipment around with me every day.  I just see a moment and snap.   It does have it’s challenges too, like those super dark, cold, gray, and rainy days where it feels like there isn’t any light to work from.  But that’s all part of the process.  :)  I can’t wait for spring!

January:

Had a little visit from this little guy to my studio loft recently.  He is so adorable!  I was happy to get a chance to try out a few new props, like the little bed – that will be available with studio newborn sessions. :)

Posting some more recent work from my backlog of to-be-blogged sessions.   Looking at this makes me yearn for spring and getting my garden in order.

I love working with this very special family! They are so much fun,  all the kids are great sports during the photo session,  and best of all – they are my neighbors too!   Their oldest son just recently got engaged too!  Congrats Stephen & Jo!

This little guy is Adorable with a capitol A!   He reminded me so much of my little Hannah when she was an infant.  Love all the hair he was born with too.   He was awake for most of the session but so content.  He rarely cried and as long as he was warm and fed, he was good to go!  :)

Thanks Lisa and Chris!

Well, it seems my blog has been quite neglected, as it usually is after a busy fall before the holidays.  I have been very blessed to meet some amazing new families this year, and to see so many come back for their annual portraits!  I enjoy this very much and after about a week off from working, it seems I’m ready to jump right back in and get back to work.  Hopefully 2011 will bring some more of what I saw in 2010… meeting new little people, and experiencing the beginnings of families forming, seeing children (and families) grow, and capturing that moment in time to help you create the family portrait you have been dreaming of.

I’ll be posting some recent work from Oct, Nov, and December 2010 to catch up on what I’ve been up to.   The new studio has been WONDERFUL!  I just love having a meeting place for you to come and see samples of products, my work, and the studio space for the winter months and the ability to capture the childhood milestones has been great so far!    I couldn’t have done it without you so thank YOU for your business and support!

And a huge thank you for my family, and especially my husband Dave, who is definitely my partner in this business.  He’s the other half doing all the behind the scenes work, and keeping my computer working smoothly.  He’s been known to stay up all night long  to fix a computer problem, or update my computer to Win7, or whatever happens along the way.  He also put in long hours helping me paint, hang hardware, and assemble furniture in my studio.

I rarely post pictures of my own family-  we were able to squeeze this image out in the nick of time to create my own holiday cards this year…. and I LOVE how it turned out.  This is in the studio, taken with the camera’s timer.   A doggy treat sat on the lens – which made everyone look and smile!  Not an easy feat! Haha.

The above was drawn by my little talented artists.  :)

Ah my poor neglected blog!  I need to get going with posting more of my recent work on here.  I tend to update my facebook page a little more often so if you would like to see what I’m up to a little more often be sure to check out my business page Holli Dunn Photography, on Facebook.  :)

Angie and Brad, your kids are ADORABLE!!  I’m so glad to come back and see how Mr. S has grown and meet Little Miss K!   Can’t wait to show you the rest of what we captured!

{Holiday Mini Sessions}

September 8, 2010

Holiday mini sessions are booking now, and there is still space available!  I only do family mini sessions on a very limited basis – this is it for 2010!   :)  All collections include a set of press printed holiday cards too, something everyone raves about!

Choose from 3 collections – all include some of my most popular items!  Sessions take place outdoors at a local Bellevue Park.

A little sneak peek for the T family.   I loved this session and working with this family was so much fun.  They were very laid back and although T decided to be done a little more than half way through (very typical for 3 year olds) we just went with it and got the family portrait on the beach in the end plus a few more of the kids with mom and dad.  :) Yay!    The beach was BEAUTIFUL!  We totally lucked out that the morning was pretty cloudy and cool so it wasn’t crowded at all.   Then the clouds started burning off and we were blessed with some amazing light.

And their little French Bulldog Oliver is SO cute!!
