Last week I was blessed with the opportunity to participate with Green Halloween at the Whole Foods, Bellevue store to promote a healthier and eek-o friendly Halloween for our children!! I took fall pictures of kids as they visited the store. The produce department offers pretty amazing fall color with all the fruits and vegetables. (It was POURING rain that day so the original plan to be outside with the pumpkins didn’t work out). I also provided a fun eco-friendly pirate themed craft for the kids. We made these out of leather upholstery samples all repurposed for a craft!! I have to say that it took a little thought to figure out what to make out of little 4×6 pieces of leather and Corey from Green Halloween gave me the perfect idea of Pirate Eye Patches, and then I added in Pirate Bracelets and little Treasure Pouches too!
Check out Corey and Lynn from Green Halloween hard at work! And I love seeing the photography I did blown up huge on their banners! Look at that cutie!!
What is Green Halloween? Be sure to check out their website for tips on being green, offering healthy alternatives for our children, and products safe for the enviroment at www.greenhalloween.org.
Here are a few tips from their “Getting Started” section:
And if your child does collection candy:
*We are big fans of the Candy Fairy at my own house!
I wanted to show off a little tonight! A hobby of mine is cake decorating. When I find the time!
My babysitter asked me what it was like photographing weddings when she saw these on my computer tonight and well… I don’t photograph weddings right now! LOL, but I make cakes that look a lot like wedding cakes I guess. It really wasn’t my intention as I just wanted to make a really nice cake for an auction for my daughters school this evening for the dessert dash. It was a alot of fun… I loved how it turned out with the fresh flowers and spring colors.

Aren’t they cute?

In addition to a “freshening up” I’m hoping to be able to offer all collages and wall portraits framed and ready to hang!! I know how hard it can be to take those prints to the frame shop, pick out a frame, and put it all together. Hopefully soon it will be easier than ever to get your images up on the wall. With just a level, hammer, and a couple nails you’ll be enjoying your images for years to come!
I’ve been SO blessed this year to have so many wonderful friends, a beautiful family and awesome clients! Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! I’m looking forward to waking up in the morning bright and early to watch my kids check out what Santa brought them.
I created a little e-card this year. HappyHolidays!!!!
Just a heads up. I woke up this morning to a broken cell phone. Wouldn’t you believe that my warranty expired just one week ago!!! (argh!) and they wanted me to pay full retail price for a new one (If I were more paranoid I would think this was intentional!) . I ended up extending my contract and a phone replacement is on it’s way. In the meantime, I’m without a phone for a few days while I wait for a new one to arrive. If you need to reach me, the best way is to send an email and I’ll be sure to call you right back on my land-line.
I used sprint for years and even though the signal was always bad, at least their customer service was very good. At&t…well, they have very limited options for working this out. I’m just hoping I don’t have to wait as long as she told me it would take to ship me the new one.
Hey just a heads up to all my sweet clients about holiday ordering deadlines!

I loved everything about this session! The location (Greenlake Park), the color, the weather, and the fun!!!
Aren’t these kid’s SO cute! I swear they would be awesome models… I see it in their future… and more fairy homes! :)

Sometimes here in Washington we have to deal with the rainy weather. Luckily this beautiful family were still on despite the weather! The colors were so beautiful this year, especially on that day. The leaves were everywhere!! They are all cleaned up now and I’m missing them already.
Carmen and Jeff- your family is beautiful!!
